The best thing about making your own chicken pies is that you can have the perfect flavor all day long.
There are tons of good recipes online that are delicious, but for me, making my own chicken pie is a great way to enjoy chicken while still getting the health benefits of chicken without having to throw out what you have.
Here are the best ways to make your own delicious chicken pate.
Kale Pie Crust Recipe Ingredients: 1 cup of cooked kale (kale is a super easy to grow green vegetable) 1 tablespoon of salt 1 teaspoon of pepper 1 tablespoon sugar 2 cups of flour 1 cup sugar 1 cup shredded cabbage 1/2 cup chopped fresh ginger 1/4 cup minced garlic, minced 1/3 cup shredded green onions 1 cup fresh lemon juice 1/8 cup sour cream 2 tablespoons butter Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare a pie crust.
In a bowl, combine the salt, pepper, and sugar.
Add the kale and stir to coat the kale.
Spread the flour on the crust.
Fold the crumbs in, and sprinkle with the salt.
Roll out the crust about 1/16″ thick and press it down firmly with your fingers.
Bake for 20 minutes.
The crust will be crispy and the pate will be slightly salty.
Recipe Notes: I use a 3 quart pie dish to make this recipe.
For this recipe, you can also use a 2 quart pie.
